DEFINING WEB 3
Web3 is a term used to describe the next evolution of the Internet, commonly referred to as the decentralized web or blockchain web.
This new web is based on decentralized technologies such as blockchain and peer-to-peer networks, allowing users to have full control over their data and identity online.
We know the internet as centralized , which means that we have relied on third party organizations, social networking platforms, search engines , cloud, in storage and distribution of data and information . Users are at the mercy of the providers & oversight when it comes to security, privacy and data ownership.
With web3 , we have a model without intermediaries and we can access a distributed network where we have the ability to have control over data and
identity under the network and incorporate the use of wallets.Blockchain is a key technology of web3, as it allows secure and transparent transactions without central authority.
Applications under cryptocurrencies, peer-to-peer marketplaces, decentralized social media platforms are major changes in the interaction with the
new internet of value Web3 is an emerging industry where there is a large representation of women.
Women lead ventures, contribute to the development of web3 projects and we can
see profiles in technical functions and in the different sectors and technologies that integrate the new internet era.
The role of women in web3 contribute to create an industry with more balance in gender equality, , to create referents, to reinforce communities, with
specializations, reskills and building a new equitable technological talent.
Although the salary gap still exists, it is a good example to promote the attraction of more
women in the sector. The leadership of women in web3 is present at the same time of the challenges
that it implies in the definition of the future in the transition from Web2 to Web3.
To increase visibility in Web3 some of the actions that women can do to increase
their presence are: participate in web3 communities, meetings, events, conferences, articles as well as establish contacts in the industry, connect with like-
minded and knowledgeable people in the industryOn the other hand, it is worth mentioning the learning of new markets, technologies, and participate in social networks as a source of information and at the same time expose their ideas.
Collaboration with other women in the industry, networking can amplify their voices in the web3 industry and increase their visibility, share events, co-author white papers, co-organize events, workshops, participate in podcasts, blogs... in
order to establish themselves as leaders in the industry while demonstrating their
skills and knowledge
