Rolemodel Rebels was created by Petra Arends-Paltzer, European Woman of Legal Tech and founder of the Davos Digital Forum, Switzerland.
“My career was initially not defined by me. At University I studied Law as it was a safe option, and I did not identify with any of the traditional “women's professions'' that career counselors were pushing girls into.
My career after graduation was, however, driven by my interests and conviction of what I did not want to do. I worked initially as a legal counsel and then transitioned to the branding department of a major bank.
Ultimately, driven by my fascination with the tech space, I started my own business, founded the Swiss Legal Tech Hackathon + Conference, wrote a book on Legal Tech, and launched the Davos Digital Forum. In 2020 I was honoured to be amongst those recognised as “European Women of Legal Tech”. I found my way haphazardly, with determination but, I never felt supported.
It is my hope that Rolemodel Rebels can provide the guidance and motivation for women at any stage of their career, to find their way and flourish within their talents and passions. Many of the women I met along my journey, I wished I had met them when I was younger. So, when setting up Rolemodel Rebels I asked them to join me here on this platform to help you!”
